Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to drop by and let you all know that I opened up a storenvy shop! It's called Emporium Mienai, and you can find the link here! [link] I currently only have one product for sale, but that number will grow as I finish more designs! ^w^ (and yes, Fairy Ocarinas will be available for purchase through there as soon as possible!)

As you all may have guessed, KatsuCon was a ton of fun and surprisingly successful for me haha. I finished 3 out of the 6 costumes I wanted to complete (making this con the convention I debuted the most costumes at EVER lol!) Much to my surprise, the reason I didn't finish all of my costumes was due to financial constraints rather than time. Shocking conclusion: cosplay is expensive lolol. I will upload more photos of my costumes as I receive them (I'm really excited to upload some iDOLM@STER pics!). :3

For Acen, I'm going to try this plan-too-many-costumes-and-somehow-manage-to-get-a-bunch-of-them-done thing again lol. So my plans are:

Iron Man Sailor Senshi - for my Senshi Avengers group, inspired by ~nna's art found here: [link]
Princess Zelda - Ocarina of Time
Princess Garnet (yellow jumpsuit) - Final Fantasy IX

I'm also planning to attend Fanime and ColossalCon, though I will probably put priority on Fanime because I haven't been there in a few years, and I miss my West Coast bb's! <333 When it's closer to Acen, I'll have a better idea of what costumes I'll be bringing to Fanime and ColossalCon. :3

Hahaha, I always work by the "plan-too-many-costumes-and-somehow-manage-to-get-a-bunch-of-them-done" method now. I find that no matter what I plan, I always get about half done. So if I plan 6, I'll get 3 done. But if I actually plan for just those three, chances are I'll only get one done. ._.
