I carved it out of wax, and my teacher molded and casted it (casting silver requires you to work with it in it's liquid state, which is 2000° F. My teacher didn't trust us to not burn ourselves, so that's why he did it himself). After the ring cooled, I was able to sand off all the yucky residue and buff it up to a lovely shine. :3
