Saria at OhayoCon by akuriko Saria at OhayoCon by akuriko
Here's my Saria costume which I just finished and debuted at OhayoCon last weekend! =) This cosplay was quite fun~ Simple, but definitely had it's challenges. First of all, every color of green you see on this costume was custom created by me. I had to dye EVERYTHING, because I couldn't find my materials in the correct colors and I'm a perfectionist. XD; The most challenging part was getting many different materials to match basically the same two shades of green.

This was my first time dyeing a wig! It took me two tries to get it right, and if it weren't for *FireLilyCosplay 's sharpie dyeing tutorial [link] , I don't think I would've gotten it at all! XD; It was also my first time patterning and sewing shorts! I was very proud to find that I didn't have to do much tailoring for the tunic. I just sewed it up, put it on, and it fit! XD

The boots and belt are made from 100% leather, and the base soles were taken from some black boots I got from a thrift store. The turtleneck I bought from Chadwick's, and was originally ivory. The headband was just a headband I bought from the store and covered in the same fabric as the tunic, and dyed it to match the turtleneck, belt, and boots.

The Fairy Ocarina I made myself out of Sculpey III. It does play, but not in tune. I think I might try making a new one that does play in tune this weekend or next week. :3

Can't wait until Spring to get a proper forest shoot! X33

This is amazing.
Can you please tell me where you got your wig? I'm having a HORRIBLE time trying to find one of the same style.

Thanks! I bought my wig from eBay, but it was originally blonde. I dyed, cut, and styled it myself. ^ ^; I used FireLilyCosplay's wig dyeing tutorial if that helps at all.

Thank you! Any chance you could send me the link or the name of the company?

So first let me say what a great cosplay this is....

But let me make sure I've got this right... you made your own boots? Not only made them, but made them green? Maybe that's not as big a deal as I seem to think it is, but as I don't even really know my way around fabric, the idea of leatherwork seems that much more daunting to me.

Thank you! And yep! I made the bootcovers, but the soles were taken from other shoes. Someday I hope to learn how to make the soles too! :3 Leatherwork is definitely a whole different animal from sewing and working with fabric, but after some practice, research, and acquiring the correct tools, it's not so bad. =)

Very impressive(I know this word, in particular, is overused nowadays, but I'm speechless at this time), :). Whenever I look for cosplay for The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, it keeps showing Princess Zelda and Princess Ruto most of the time(I have nothing against either princess, they are pretty ladies; they just have too much love in the world). I feel that Saria is either a forgotten character is TLoZ:OoT or she doesn't get enough love like the rest of the girls in the game. I'm saying this honestly(without crying and I'm a guy), but you made her so life-like(your interpretation of Saria is extremely accurate and you look real lovely), ;). Magnificent cosplay of Saria, akuriko. :D
